Regulatory signs tell you what you must or must not do. Ignoring one is an offence in itself, not just poor judgement, which is what separates them from warning signs.

Bus and cycle lane on the right
The lane to your right is reserved for buses and cyclists during the hours shown.
Clearway
No stopping at all during the hours shown, not even to set down a passenger. Stricter than a no-parking sign, which is the distinction the test looks for.
Contra-flow bus lane on the right
A bus lane on your right carries buses towards you, against the flow of the rest of the traffic. Expect oncoming buses where you would not normally look for them.
Disc parking
You must display a valid parking disc showing your arrival time.
Keep left
Pass to the left of the island, bollard or obstruction ahead.
Keep right
Pass to the right of the island or obstruction ahead.
No entry ahead
The road ahead cannot be entered from this direction. Normally the far end of a one-way street.
No left turn
Turning left at this junction is prohibited.
No parking
Parking is not allowed here.
No parking above the weight shown
Vehicles over the stated weight may not park here, which keeps heavy goods vehicles out of residential streets.
No right turn
Turning right at this junction is prohibited. Often used where a right turn would cross a busy oncoming lane.
No U-turn
You may not turn to face the opposite direction at this point.
Parking permitted during the times shown
Parking is allowed only between the hours on the plate.
Pass either side
The obstruction ahead may be passed on either side.
Pedestrianised street
The street ahead is for pedestrians. Vehicle access is prohibited except where a plate permits it, usually for deliveries within set hours.
Start of cycle track
Marks the beginning of a cycle track. Drivers must not park or drive in it.
Stop
Come to a complete stop at the line and give way to all traffic. The only octagonal sign in use, so it reads even when dirty or obscured.
Straight ahead only
You must continue straight on. Turning at this junction is not permitted.
Taxi rank
Reserved for taxis. Other vehicles may not park in the marked bay.
Tram lane on the left
A tram lane runs to your left. Do not enter it.
Tram lane on the right
A tram lane runs to your right. Do not enter it.
Turn left ahead
You must turn left at the junction ahead.
Turn left only
Left is the only permitted direction from here.
Turn right ahead
You must turn right at the junction ahead.
Turn right only
Right is the only permitted direction from this lane or junction.
With-flow bus and cycle lane ahead on the left
Advance notice of a reserved bus and cycle lane starting on the left.
With-flow bus and cycle lane on the left
A reserved lane on your left running in the same direction as you. Do not drive or park in it during the hours shown.
With-flow bus lane on the right
A bus lane on your right travelling in the same direction as your traffic.
Yield
Give way to traffic on the major road, and at a roundabout to traffic coming from your right or already on it. You need not stop if the way is clear, which is what separates yield from stop.
